Q1	When did you begin producing music?
	音楽制作を始めたのはいつ頃からですか？

	I began producing dance music when I was a ripe 11 years old, from there I have been producing all sorts of music but mostly dance music.
	僕は11歳のころから曲作りを始めたんだ。色々なジャンルの曲を作ってきたけどその多くはダンスミュージックだったよ。

Q2	Please tell us about the songs and artists that have influenced you and your work.
	あなたの音楽観に影響を与えた曲、アーティストがいれば是非教えて下さい。
●Breakfast
	Early in my life the biggest influence was Daft Punk, they were really special to me. As time went on I found artists like James Holden and Tiesto, as well as Ferry Corsten. These artists played a major role in my inspiration and great development.
	僕が小さいころに一番影響を受けたアーティストはDaft Punkだった。彼らは僕にとって本当に特別な存在だったよ。それからJames HoldenやTiesto、Ferry Corstenなどのアーティスト達の楽曲に出会っていったんだ。彼らの楽曲は僕のインスピレーションを湧き立てるのに大いに影響していたよ。

Q3	How would you describe your first experiences with trance and club music?

●Breakfast
	My first really excellent experience with dance music was when I heard the song Around The World by Daft Punk. This really set me off on my journey into electronic music and later BT's 'Dreaming' introduced me to Trance.
	Daft Punkの「Around The World」を聴いたときが僕のダンスミュージックとの出会いだった。この曲が僕をエレクトロニックミュージックへ導いてくれたんだよ。そしてBTの「Dreaming」を聴いてTranceの世界へと入って行ったんだ。

Q4	It is thought that age and music aren't related, however, getting your first single released by Ferry Corsten's Label Flashover Recordings at just 18 is a surprising achievement. Could you tell us about how that came to pass?
	音楽に年齢は関係ないと思いますが、Ferry CorstenのレーベルFlashover Recordingsから最初のリリースをした当事が18歳であった事には驚きました。宜しければFlashover Recordings (Ferry Corsten) との経由を教えてください。
●Breakfast
	I was extremely surprised of course!! But as well this was my goal, I knew that I had no plans to go to learn a boring career so I my goal was to have a strong release by the time I was out of high school, surprisingly this all worked out and it was very unexpected. Ferry loved the demo I had given him in D.C. so they decided to release great songs.
	もちろん僕自身もビックリだよ！あの時は驚くほど全てが上手くいっていて、「高校を卒業するまでに作品をリリースして更にそれを大ヒットさせる」という目標を達成することができたんだ。とても信じられない出来事だと思っているよ。ワシントンでFerryに渡したデモがとても気に入られて、 Flashoverからリリースされることに決まったんだ。

Q5	Currently you are getting noticed as a trance artist, but are there any other genres that you are interested in or would like to work with?
	あなたは現在の所、トランス系のアーティストとして注目を集めていますが、現在、他に関心がある、取り組んでみたいジャンルを是非教えてください。
●Breakfast
	Yes and I have many songs that are not considered trance. I am very excited about these songs as well, because it is great to gain respect in all styles of music. One genre I still have yet to work with is more of a 'rock' style maybe more influenced by lo-fi genre or physchadelic. This wil all come with time and patience.
	そうだね。でも僕はTranceにカテゴライズされている楽曲以外にも沢山の楽曲を聴いていて、そしてそのような音楽にもとても興味を持っている。あらゆるスタイルの音楽を尊重するのは素晴らしいことだと思っているからね。ただ一つ、Rockのようなローファイでトリッピーな生演奏のスタイルにはまだ取り組んだことが無いんだ。これにはまだ時間と努力が必要になるだろうね。

Q6	Maarten Hercules - Body Fusion (Breakfast Remix) and Above & Beyond pres. Tranquility Base - Buzz (Breakfast Remix) - These remixes have been a bit of a departure for you in terms of style. Can we expect more of the same kind of stimulating tracks from you in the future?
	Maarten Hercules - Body FusionやAbove & Beyond pres. Tranquility Base - BuzzのRemix Workはこれまでのシングル曲とはまた違うスタイルで、刺激的でした。今後はこのようなスタイルも多く取り組んでいきますか？
●Breakfast
	Yes of course. Each remix I create I do try to make very unique but still in a similar style of 'Breakfast'. Depending on the song sometimes it is harder to create an individual sound for certain remixes.
	もちろんだよ。その2つのRemixでは、僕は今までの「Breakfast」スタイルを踏襲しつつも、より独創的なサウンドにチャレンジしてみたんだ。Remixを作るときにはあまり原曲に依存しすぎると音に個性を出すのが難しくなるね。

Q7	Of all the releases you have produced so far, is there any one single track that has had a significant impression on you?
	今後も多くの作品を発表されると思いますが、これまでリリースされた曲で、特に思い入れのある曲はありますか？ 是非教えてください。
●Breakfast
	Yes my personal favorite would have to be River Of Light. This was on the b-side of The Air Between, my first release. Ferry had played it a lot in his sets and as well in his essential mix. In my opinion this is a great and ultimately beautiful and epic trance song, almost perfect and teasing. This is as well my favorite but it is very hard to comprehend the style now as it was produced so quickly.
	僕にとって思いいれの深い作品は「River Of Light」かな。The Air BetweenのB面に収録されている曲で、Ferryが彼のEssential Mixなど色んなSetでプレイしてくれた曲なんだ。極限まで洗練されたEpic Tranceで、自分の中でも限りなくパーフェクトな出来でリスナーの心をくすぐる作品に出来たと思う。この曲は短期間で一気に仕上げた曲だから、このスタイルを今明確に表現するのは難しいな。

Q8	Currently are there any artists you are collaborating with? Any that you would like to?
	現在コラボレーションしたい、もしくはしているアーティストなどはいますか？
●Breakfast
	I am currently collaborating with a few of my favorite young artists. Right now I am working with Mike Saint-Jules from New York and we have many productions that will be coming out in 2008. Along side from that, I have been working with local DJ George K and we have a big suprise as well! Next to that I have been working with Joni Ljungqvist and we have a few tracks that we are working on, and Marcus Schossow I worked with in Sweden we have a great release as well. So I do have many collabs that are coming and we will just have to be patient.
	現在僕のお気に入りの若いアーティスト達とのコラボレーションの計画が進行しているよ。New YorkのMike Saint-Julesとは既に数曲作り終わっていて、今年中にはリリースされると思う。あとは僕の地元のDJ George Kとも一緒に曲を作っていて、これも大きなサプライズをお届けできるよ思うよ！さらにJoni LjungqvistやMarcus Schossowとも合作をしていて、素晴らしい楽曲が生まれると思う。このように沢山のコラボレーションが進行中なんだ。リリースを楽しみにしていてね。

Q9	Please tell us about any up and coming releases you may have in the works.
	今後のリリース予定があれば是非お教えください。
●Breakfast
	I am planning many releases for 2008 and it will be a great year for new music and especially a chance to breathe a new sound. I am excited to announce as well that I have a very special news in 2008 and I will announce that on my website soon!
	2008年には沢山のリリースを予定していて、この一年は僕のサウンドに新たな風を吹き込む良いチャンスになると思う。スペシャルなニュースが沢山あって、皆に届けたくて僕自身もウズウズしているんだ。近いうちに僕のウェブサイトでアナウンスされる予定だよ！

Q10	When we first looked at your website we noticed that there were links to Landscape's and Sevensenses Recordings websites. How did you come to know about them?
	そういえば初めてあなたのホームページを見た時、Landscape, Sevensenses Recordings,など日本のサイトのURLが載っていて驚きました。 どのような経由で知られましたか？
●Breakfast
	Yes I am a big supporter of both Landscape's new record label and Sevensenses. I was introduced to Landscape through Kenji Sekiguchi, Matsunaga and Neco and as well Makotrax (Makoto Murase) who I am a big fan of his work. OCOT has as well had great releases on the label and I support the releases coming up! I think Landscape is one of the only, if not the only, trance party in Japan, so I must support this great chapter in music!!!
	そう。僕はLandscapeやSevensensesの熱狂的なサポーターなんだ！Kenji SekiguchiやMatsunagaやNECO、Makotrax（彼の作品は素晴らしいね！）を通して日本のTranceを知ることができたんだ。特にOCOTの楽曲がお気に入りで、彼のリリースする楽曲を積極的にサポートしたいと思っている。Landscapeは日本でも希少ないTranceのパーティだと思っていて（もしそうじゃなかったら失礼。）、だから僕は素晴らしい日本のTranceシーンを応援しなければと考えているんだ！

Q11	Tell us a little about your impressions/images of Japan.
	日本という国の現在のイメージについてお聞かせ下さい。
●Breakfast
	Japan is one of my most wanted places to see, and I have deep impressions of the culture and lifestyle. For me Japan is a mysterious place because it is so different from western culture and the way I am used to seeing things, it's like an alternate dimension. But as well I have much respect for the art in Japan, as Japanese film is one of my favorite styles.
	日本は一度行ってみたいと思っている場所の一つで、日本の文化や生活スタイルには深いイメージを持っているよ。僕にとって日本はミステリアスな場所なんだ。西洋とは文化や物事の見方が違って、まるで別世界のようだね。でも同時に日本の芸術は素晴らしいと思っている。特に日本の映画は大好きなんだ。

Q12	In addition to your production work will you be doing more DJ work? If so, please make sure that Japan has dates on your touring schedule!
	ところで、今後は楽曲製作だけではなくDJの仕事も更にしていきますか？ いつか機会があれば日本にも訪れてきてください。
●Breakfast
	2008 will be a great year for DJ'ing as Europe will be more available to me. In 2007 we saw Full On Ferry at Ahoy' Rotterdam, and this has opened many doors for Dj'ing in 2008. In April I will be touring the USA with Ferry Corsten on a small tour. As for Japanese dates I have none yet but hopefully with due time and patience we will see one appear!!!
	2008年は僕のDJ活動において素晴らしい一年になると思う。ヨーロッパでDJできる機会をもらえるようになったからね。昨年ロッテルダムのアホイ・ロッテルダム競技場で行われたFull On Ferryに出演させてもらって、それでDJ活動の道が開けたんだ。4月にはFerry CorstenのUSAツアーに参加する予定だよ。日本でのギグはまだ予定していないけれど、いずれ実現させたいと強く願っているよ！

Q13	Please tell the impression that finished a gig in Europe.
	DJツアーといえばヨーロッパツアーを終えてきたところですよね。ヨーロッパの感想を教えて下さい。
●Breakfast
	Europe was amazing and quite and experience for me. In London at Turnmills I had the most exciting crowd and they were full of energy, Turnmills is a great venue and I am also very sad they will be shutting down their Venue.
	ヨーロッパは素晴らしい場所だった。沢山の経験を僕に与えてくれたよ。ロンドンのTurnmillsというクラブでエナジーに満ち溢れた熱狂的なクラウドに会うことができた。Turnmillsは素晴らしい場所だと感じたよ。ギグを終わらせるのが本当に惜しかったな。

Q14	Were those parties different from the party in U.S.A.?
	そこにアメリカのパーティーとの違いはありましたか？
●Breakfast
	The differences were there but as well I love the U.S. crowd because they are very fresh. But unfortunately many of USA's crowd is not as aware of the music as Europes crowd, who knows what you are playing mostly and is very attentive to the DJ, rather than the party and partying.
	違いはあるけれど、アメリカのクラウドももちろん大好きだよ。彼らはとてもフレッシュなんだ。だけど、アメリカのクラウドの多くはヨーロッパのクラウドに比べて音楽に詳しくないかな。ヨーロッパのクラウドはDJがかける曲を良く知っていて、とても敏感に反応してくれるんだ。パーティを楽しむよりも音楽そのものを楽しんでいるようだったね。

Q15	Please tell me about current American scene.
	なるほど。それでは最近のアメリカのシーンについて詳しく教えて下さい。
●Breakfast
	Many people are coming out to the parties and there is a lot of competition between clubs. The competition is good because it allows more genre of dance music to come into the country, not just trance but as well house and progressive styles. The electronic scene has always had a bad reputation in America though for it's heavy drug use, but now more people come to the clubs to dance and they realize that it is a great party. There is a whole land here that could be used for dance music scene!!!
	多くの人々がパーティに繰り出していて、沢山のクラブの間で競争が起こっているよ。でも競争は良いことだと思っている。Trance以外にも HouseやProgressiveなど沢山のジャンルのダンスミュージックが国内に入ってくるようになるからね。アメリカのエレクトロニックミュージックのシーンはドラッグなどの悪い噂が絶えないんだけど、最近では人々はダンスを、素晴らしいパーティを楽しむためにクラブへ足を運ぶようになっている。これがアメリカのダンスミュージックシーンさ！

	I am happy to say a great year will be ahead, 2008 is a great year for stepping ahead and moving out of the 'box'. So stay tuned and many new releases and great news will come!
